Choose your battles
Selective indifference

Modern people are constantly drained of energy because the world is designed to make us care about everything. Social media and the news trigger us into arguing with strangers about things we cannot influence.
Imagine waking every morning with a battery of Qi – energy and focus. Every time you fume over a stranger's comment or chew on peripheral drama, you drain the battery. The energy you spend defending yourself is energy you steal from building your future.
The Taoist sage is not apathetic – he is a master of selective indifference. He knows exactly what to ignore. Water does not argue with the stones it meets; it flows quietly past.
What did you spend energy on this past week that didn't really deserve it? Who or what got your battery?
Choose one thing today that you consciously do NOT care about. Let it pass like water around a stone.
